SPHINX
Galleria Sphinx should really be Galleria Giza I suppose. However for the moment it will do. Everybody has photographed the Plateau from the Bonfills thru to Francis Frith and John Romer. Nothing beats a name drop or three does it. These shots are no different from the average and certainly not up to the Bonfills brothers or Francis Frith, however John must be really cranky about the colour balancing in his magical new Cambridge University published book.
Another pair of eyes perhaps that's about all in this most photographed of places on the face of the Earth.
There is a caf, over from the Sphinx right behind the Son et Lumiere seating.
Great to hang out in and watch the action, you don't get the sound at the Son et Lumiere, and , that's a plus, better still you don't have to pay for it..
So please come back, there will be updates.

Another great place I must visit one day. Thanks for sharing.

Well, Waz...I finally immortalized on the internet! At least my left hand and my watch did . That camel just wanted me to keep feeding it and Allah knows he would have eaten ALL my lunch that day at Saqqara. I love the pictures of the Sphinx - it always makes me feel goose-bumpy, if you know what I mean.
Many thanks for all the pics, love CLAIRE BOUSFIELD

Thanks Waz! Great pics that will make life incredibly easy for me in Cairo! Now I know exactly what to look for to find these places - start with the great view of the rear end of Sphinx, then go toward the guy in the red jumper! ;)
Seriously, your pictures have actually given me a feeling of familiarity with where I am going - a fantastic feeling compared to the almost scary idea of going to Egypt by myself! When I'm sitting in that cafe, seeing these incredible sites with my own eyes for the first time, I'll drink a toast to you!
