Fitting in nicely into Rusticanas second season on the right side of the turf we have the 2008 start of the Sydney to Hobart Classic ocean race for you.
Our Editorius clad in 30+ sun screen and pandanus palm hat ventured en Famile on the Constellation Catamaran brandishing the Mighty Panasonic to record the event for us.
Wonderful food and drink (s) somewhat interfered with absolute photographic quality however the record dear viewer is here for your delectation.
Entries are well down from the vintage years as the race has had a drastic safety review after the 1999 race where there were six fatalities and the result is a huge increase in safety standards. Many so called amateurs can no longer sail on account of the prohibitive costs..
The race is dominated by the huge super maxis in terms of line honours, the handicap winner is as ever in the hands of Poseidon and the careful application of several million dollars.
As we type there has been one sinking and one withdrawal and no loss of life,
Skandia and Wild Oats competed for line honours, with Wild Oats taking out the challenge.

Wonderful set, Wazza! And yes, very exotic. :-) Love the waters, love the skies, love the palm trees, all the boats are great. You must have had a fantastic time.
