Galleria DRG

Sadly DRG left us on the morning of the 16th of October 2012. Certainly his work will live on in these pages and in the hearts and minds of his frends and loved ones.He is in great company.
Our notes below have been left as written. See also the Requiem DRG gallery on DRGs wake the last thumbnail in this Gallery.

Our first mate to send evidence of an active photographic life is Derek.
Whilst DRG has not been interviewed, because it might have spoiled a good script, our understanding is that, having trained as a Marine Architect, he moved into Law, and specialises in industrial work which causes him to move around OZ like a carpet salesman. He is a kind of Advocate. An Industrial Avocado even. His pics will confirm he travels widely in OZ as well as OS.We have an interest in antiquity as you know and in a rush of blood to the head, asked the Marine Architect DRG person if he had any construction plans of the Vasa. Now, all of you know that The Vasa is an old timber battle ship built for Gustavus Adolphus sunk in 1628 by phantom chance to the bottom of Stockholm harbour. OK OK we all know that. Right. Well DRG not only has, but can locate in the lounge room bookcases the full plans of the Vasa in double elephant including the original sail plan.
Eat that, mates.

He is incredibly busy and yet is always first to volunteer when help is needed. Derek has offered pics for our 420 gallery as well as some beautiful panorama work using his Hasselblad Xpan. Like Wazza, Derek is partial to a sip of the sacred syrup, of which more elsewhere and later. Not only but also, DRG can turn a hand to most tasks from casting rare metal, growing things under glass, through to a rare sirloin. We have seen him form a complete door architrave by sight, with a 200 mm Black and Decker. Fit to one mm. Not at all bad for a Marine Architect.
DRG has contributed thru out Rusticana and you can see an additional folio of his works in the Sub Gallerium Portus Aereoalus inside Portus Jacksonia.
