Britcars
We recently had the chance to go to Sydney Kings School to see a gathering of British Historic cars. Not Chariotus Antiquitus exactly but wonderful none the less and now mostly belonging in the dreams of those of us who were around as kids when they were made.
Rolls Royce of course but also strangely a Citroen Normale made in England, Jaguar SS100 and MG, wonderful Bentley, Alvis and Lagonda and of all things a Shorrock blown MG TC. The latter must make your old bones rattle.
You will gentle viewer recognise most by their bonnet logos, however we will go thru the pack in due course and add any comments that spring to mind .
If you owned one of these gems in another life we would love to hear from you in comments. Between us we owned a Rover 75, not photographed as we were deluged with 90s and the hearts and minds were flagging and we could not find one, and two beautiful MG TDs one of which was in British Racing Green and trimmed in beige leather. Some of you Elders may remember the dozen or more colour coordinated silk scarves in the in the dashboard glove box, the deep green and white cushion and the green Mackenzie Tartan rug in the rear side curtain glove box. Those were indeed the Days....
Is Chariots of Fire playing in background by any chance.
Enjoy with us.
