Ford 1929 Tri-Motor

The EAA's Ford Tri-Motor (NC8407) was manufactured on August 21, 1929. It flew with Pitcairn Airways, Eastern Air Transport, Cubana Airlines, and was Air Force One for the Dominican Republic. It returned to the USA in 1949 and was used as a crop duster and smoke jumper. It appeared in films and various other uses until 1973 when it was smashed into three pieces by a tornado while sat on the ground in Burlington Wisconsin and was considered a total loss. The EAA purchased the Tri-Motor shortly after and spent until 1985 restoring it. It went on display at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh Wisconsin and flew occasionally. Today it makes regular passenger flights and makes numerous public appearances throughout the USA.

It is based at Oshkosh Wisconsin USA.
