Memories

When I was about 14 my parents sent me on a school trip to Romania. I say sent because I really didn't want to go. But they thought it would be a great opportunity for me. They were of course right and I'm now glad I went even if the poverty I witnessed gave me nightmares for weeks. And this is one of the things I brought back that I still have. I brought it mainly because I knew my Mum would unpack my case immediately I arrived home, that she wouldn't be able to resist peeking in the little box and....... she is completely terrified of snakes and can't even bear to look at a photo of one.... well she did send me away on holiday!

Very novel toy... I think it is great to have items that remind us of times in our lives.

LOL - and that must have been a great experience for you at 14. When I was that age the best I got was 4 days on the French coast near Dieppe.

:) nice joke on your Mum.

you're quite fortunate to have parents that push you to do things like that. i think the hardest thing that parents have to do is knowing what is best for their kids and making them do it even when they don't want to. things such as this, they appreciate when they get older.

i like the soft, diffused and slightly warm lighting here. composition is good too, the way the snake ends with the finger, which leads to the corner of the frame, and how the deer provides "mental" contrast by going in the other direction.

Hilarious. My wife's grandfather made one of these things a long time ago. Very funny job to play on people.
