Travel chest

Jeremy's grandfather used to work for Marconi in the West Indies. This is one of the travelling chests that came with him when he returned to England. You can certainly see that it's seen the world though it looks great in our sitting room and now houses our old records (which we never play any more).

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/3s f/11.0 at 55.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I keep my old 33's in one of those multi-coloured crates....
Lovely shot Gail - you and Tina were thinking the same today.

Beautifully shot, I love old wood!

The light has collected the mellow feel of the timber. Do you polish it with beeswax & savour that wonderful smell.

Just the fact that you still have the key says a lot for its owners.
Nicely done the shadowing is neat too.

Lighting is excellent and you've captured the old wood of this chest very well.

looks like a nice travel chest, a wooden one it seems (heavy i imagine), and very classic.

That's the way to travel. Lovely colours and textures in the wood. And, yes, 1 Vic St. (DTi) is where I hang out in London. Good to know the DTi has such good neighbours....
