11 April
Sunny day

This is Horseguards Parade - home of the Queen's guards. You can see that they are putting up the red seating in the background. Don't know why - usually it's for the Trooping of the Colour - celebrating the Queen's birthday. The back of No 10 (home of the PM) is to the right of this picture.

Anyway, as it was such a beautiful day I thought I'd get walking. Long ago I bought myself one of those pedometer things - in fact my *first PAD* featured the Pedo. Since then I haven't done very well and you know what it's like when winter sets in etc etc. So today would be the start of a new regime. I've managed 10206 steps (but I think that 500 of those clocked up while I was ironing so they may not count - hahaah). And, the walk was more like a push through the crowds - it was sooo busy. When I eventually arrived at a bus-stop the bus was so packed I couldn't get on it - I'm just glad the sun was shining.

Very nice. I have been to London twice on business, but neither time did the weather cooperate enough to do a decent tour of this place. Maybe next time...

I remember she forgot to troop it once and had to send Phillip down.

Picture postcard photograph Gail. I think the red seating and the positioning of it adds to the image. Excellent.

nice muted tones - suggests the calm before the storm. must get back to London - think I've worn Woking out!

Great composition and unusual view. The sky is great and the prople in the foreground add perspective.

The sky is beautiful in this photo. Looks as if it's about to rain, and you caught it just before it would. Beautiful.

I love the expanse of the sky vs the land. Very nice walkabout pic :)

i can't help but ask... if this is a parade, where are all the people and where are the people in the parade itself? :O this place looks interesting though, it looks like a wide open dirt area? good for events i imagine.

you know, my sister has one of those Pedometers. she used it for awhile, but eventually gave up on it, saying it was too inaccurate. it doesn't really track your steps so much as it tracks how many jolts it takes. :)

Hey I got one of those - pinched Helen's. Aim for 10k - 20k per day. Goes up nicely when I'm driving :)

Great sky and nice wide shot. It looks like a whole different country ... oh yeah, it is!

Ah yes, I remember it well, but it is nearly always sunny in London.
First time I have seen it with the Eye though, thanks.

Does the PM nip next door to borrow a pint of milk i wonder? heheh, great shot! :-)

Surely ironing counts as double. Time to get out the sunglasses.

errr... 11th June, its for her official birthday. Maybe rehearsals? Nice image, and it is a view I haven't seen either, I must have avoided this route every time I've been nearby.

Very nice sunshine and excellent view Gail!

Lovely to see a sunny sky in London isn't it!

Trooping the Colour's 21 April (I just googled!) so I'm intrigued about the seating as well!

In all these years, I have still to visit this place!
Thanks for the view.

Didn't realise you could see the 'eye' from there... Can't make up my mind if it spoils the view or not. I do like the sky in this.
