15 January 2009

I'm getting old!

I liked my old glasses. I could read with them and see in the distance so I could just wear them for everything but didn't need to wear them often. Now I have these 'Cherry Cola's' (that's the colour actually but it's a nice name): stronger for reading but I I can't see a thing if I look up and so trip over things if I try to walk in them haha. I don't like it. Up until now I've managed to get away without my glasses most of the time except for when I'm reading pages and pages of close type, but now I'm finding it hard to read those little symbols on the top camera display (sharp intake of breath). Being fairly new to glasses I don't actually mind wearing them but I don't like the putting them on and taking them off for different jobs, and I don't like having to find room for them in my bag - there's only so much I can carry and after the camera, the ipod, blackberry and mobile there isn't much room left. I'm sulking! Oh and before you say it Nicky, there is NO WAY anyone is approaching my eyes for surgery unless I'm in a deep, deep sleep.

ROFL!! I was just reading your words & thinking "I must email Gail & tell her about the laser eye op!!" Er, OK then, maybe not! And my left eye is slowly deteriorating again so not sure I'm so pleased now anyway... :o( What you need is the varifocals, my dear!! So you can look down and look up with the same piece of glass! (they can make it so you can't tell you've got bifocals you know, no-one need ever know!) Love the colour of the specs anyway! :o)

Know the feeling. Bloomin' nuisance - but at least it has given you a good pic ;-))

Have you ever noticed how all those laser surgeons wear glasses? Makes you think, doesn't it?
(Nope, I'm with Lee and Sheena, can't take photos with my glasses either, I'm glad I switched to contact lenses 13 years ago!)

I've not needed glasses so far either... but I'm starting to wonder. Or maybe I just need a new telly! lol

A great shot of your new glasses. I'm like Lee, I've been wearing varifocals for a while now but have to take them off to take a photo!

They look like classy glasses and will go nicely with your red outfits (and yellow ones too :)!

yep, varifocals for me too.... works for me but not everyone. The only thing is, I find I have to take them off to take a photo!

LOL! That's exactly why I ended up getting varifocals earlier this year ! Love the glasses by the way - they look really cool !
