Hello Jim, I am writing an inspirational book and I would like you to be a part of it with your photos. The one I saw was a black & white 1940 Chev coupe. I would need 1 4x6 high res. photo. Also I would need a permission slip to use your photo. If you agree what would be your fee for the photo and how would you like me to word your credit under the photo ?? Thank you George Smythe

Thanks Amber - all Hasstedt's and Hastedt's in the USA are actually related from our ancestors who came from Germany! I sent you an email, so hopefully you're willing to compare notes and we can both learn more.

Hi Jim, I love your photo with the poem on it and was wondering if I may use it on my website? I have many photos that friends of mine took on there, but I would love to incorporate this one as it fits our subject so well and is soo beautiful! Would you be willing to have it used for our site? please visit it at www.theishayatradition.com and let me know. I love all your work and perhaps there are others as well that we can use as we build all our intertnational sites now..
thank you,
Kalima

Hi Jim! I'm a recent university engineering graduate, and I'm trying to get into the motivational speaking business (which for now means that I'm basically unemployed), but I'd love to use your "pool jump" photo in one of my presentations. Can you email me at hilchejm@mcmaster.ca to discuss?

Great photos, and look forward to hearing from you!

Can anyone translate that last comment? I'm guessing it's German and also guessing it's complimentary, but not sure at all.

Beautiful pictures Jim..

On another note, I read and seen your migrane aura pictures. My husband is suffering from them now. Interesting that you related them to new glasses and your new monitor. He works in a Fab clean room enviroment (INTEL) and works in yellow light. He wonders if that is a trigger but he does get them at home sometimes also. Yours went away you said? He dosn't usually get bad headaches but feels drained afterwards. Was that typical of yours? I wish I could help him with these, I know it's frustrating.

Anyway..great work!

I really appreciated your posting about migraine aura -- I experienced another 20-minute one last night and it sent me searching for explanations on the Internet.

I drew a couple of doodles while it was going on:

Later last night, after my household settled down, I drew this sequence:

I would love to hear from people who see something similar. Fortunately, I never experience any migraine pain.

Dear Mr Hasstedt, I have seen your collage "My Migraine Aura" in the web and, being a neurologist and migraine researcher, I would like to contact you to ask you some questions on this piece of work I found very instructive. Please mail me at kpodoll@ukaachen.de so that I can discuss further details with you. Thank's

I visited your galleries and consider you have interesting photos and a high quality work. I'm a new user since october 14th and you're the first user leaving a comment. I really was asking myself what I was doing on this site. Just load photos or have interesting communications and critiques with new friends. I think leaving, you make me hesitate to do this. I think I should give a chance... perhaps...:) Many thanks for your appreciation.

Hi Jim.
I saw your photos first on the photography-on-the.net site and like that you're not too far away. I live up here in Marysville, North of Everett, and recently bought my wife a G2 for her Macro photography.
You are way ahead of us in skill and somehow it's comforting to know help isn't too far away. Silly, concidering it's on-line and could come from Hong Kong just as easily...
Anyway, I'm writing to tell you that I love your artistic talent. Great composition and color. Talk to you later.......... Jim.

Jim,

Hi, I wanted to let you know that you have a great collection of photos. I notice you are using the Canon G2. I also use the Canon G2. It is simply the best 4meg Digital camera on the market. I love using it and I'm trying to learn more about photography. I I notice you live in the Seattle area. I live in the Fairwood area outside of Renton. Keep up the great work.

Thanks,
Robb

Thanks Clio. I visited your web site and you have a lot of great photos! (but no email address or guestbook)

Sounds to me like you would enjoy the Seattle area. It's got a lot more rain and is cooler than L.A., but it's nowhere near rainy all the time. During the winter months it can get a little gloomy being overcast and drizzly for days at a time, then get a brief dry spell to be followed by more rain, but overall it's not that bad. We've had pretty good weather this spring, and today it may even hit 90 deg. F. (although that's unusual). We get maybe one or two snowfalls in the winter, but usually melts within a couple days.

As far as things to do and see, it's great!
If you'd like more details, send me your e-mail address.

Hey Jim,

Thanks for critquing my flower shot. I've got to say, I really like some of your work on this gallery. The ones that jump immediately to mind are Dock Solitude, the Space Needle shots, and of the kid (your son?) running through the sprinkler.

I thoroughly enjoyed them.

As a resident from WA state, could you tell me if it's true that it rains a lot? Does it cramp your style in any way? I live in L.A. but have my eye towards relocating somewhere cleaner, safer, but with plenty of restaurants, moderate weather, and tons of things to do.

Seattle seems to fit the bill, but everyone keeps warning me about the weather as if deluges were a daily occurrence. I'd like to hear the straight story from a resident. 8)

Thanks.

Wow - thanks for the news. I've weathered a strike (40 days), but never have had to worry about losing my house. Best wishes to you and your husband, as well as Will.

Hey guy, hopefully we will be back soon on the G2 Site, Will wrote me and told me of his back luck. He said he will have the site back on line when he finds a place to live. Wow I knew something was wrong, but thats tough. My husband and I are on our way to a strike we both work the same place. Its scary it could happen to all of us.
