Last look at Long Look Garden-by tomorrow it will be at the bottom of a flooded river -- which looms ominously in the background.
The Des Moines River is at at historic high levels after heavy rains overwhelmed our flood control dam - this garden has been a delight to me, I took one last photo before a predicted 10 foot wall of water swept it away . . . very sad.
Very nice composition. I like very much the light, colors and shadow - you just can't see it all in one blik, which - to me - makes the picture very exciting to explore :o) How sad that it is gone ...
Very pretty garden indeed. I like the curving walkway, taking the eye aroumd the garden. Sad about the flooding, hope all is well with your friends & family,.
Gigs, beautiful shot of this nice place. We saw on TV alarming pics of devastation in another state.
We know here what it is like living close to a river....Hope you live in a spot that's high enough.
Lovely shot, Gigs. I heard about the 10 foot wall of water today on the news, here in California. I didn't realize it was right where you are. So sorry that this beautiful scene has been destroyed. Hope all are well and safe in your area.
