Blue wings, white pillars

Ducks swimming, feeding, diving, flying in the Des Moines River below Red Rock Lake

This female mallard seems to be paying homage to the pillar of ice that has formed on an old wooden bridge piling.

Taken from the old Hornby Bridge, which is now an observation platform for the eagle sanctuary on the far shore.
