Mallards have paired up and this couple were cruising the pond. Mallards have nested at FWG in the past, but not always successfully, though one year I recall seeing a family of downy ducklings which very sadly vanished day by day until only one was left, and the next time I went to the garden,a little later, there were no mallards at all, and I expect the last downy young also vanished and the adults departed
