This photo shows some of the small, yellow, wilted DSV that we frequently see around the edge of these circles in summer (middle of the left side of the photo). The Virginia creeper has grown up into a largish Manitoba maple at the right. The aspen with the wiggly trunk is right in front of the wilted DSV about 1/4 way in from the left edge of the photo.
