Beggar-ticks (Bidens) at the pond - 2006

A misty day in early September. Back then, 2006, we had a huge stand of beggar-ticks alongside the bridge over the pond. They eventually vanished, finally done in by the repair of the dam and erection of the new bridge.

Very interesting how Beggar-ticks which are usually pretty hardy and which one would think would survive through seed germination have disappeared. Yet other much less desirable species survive no matter how much disturbance there is.
Excellent series of photos showing the pond over the years Christine.
