This photo shows the rampant growth of the non-native and invasive asian bittersweet vine. It is clambering over the trees in the birch grove. A few years previous to this photo, when the plant had not spread to this extent, it was cut back and disposed of, any part with fruit was bagged for disposal. As you can see, the cutting had no effect and in fact, the plant grew back more vigorously. The next attempt saw the roots dug up (no easy task), and so far, we've not noticed it re-growing here.
