This blog is a way of sharing some of the things we see and are working on at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden (FWG) in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Contributions of photos taken at the FWG and information about them are welcome. Please send them to fletcher@ofnc.ca. Be sure to provide the full name of the photographer and permission to use the photo on our blog.
Diane photographed this fine stand of sneezeweed in the Butterfly Meadow. It attracts many insects, and in this shot you can see a couple of bumble bees.
In what conditions have you seen Solidago ptarmicoides growing in the wild, Christine? I'd really like to see more of these local species growing in other parts of the FWG - not just the backyard garden. This one is gorgeous and easy to grow from seed, so supply is not a problem.
