Black-capped chickadee

About 6 chickadees flitting around the feeder in the Backyard Garden.

Pond with tracks

A nice straight set of tracks crossed the pond from the ravine to the new woods. They are relatively large for a fox, although as the snow softens tracks can appear much, much larger than they really are.

Pileated woodpecker excavation

A pileated woodpecker had been working around this pine quite recently, but alas, not when I was at the garden.
