Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our PBase friends from the folk at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden. Thank you for a wonderful year of superb photography and we look forward to seeing more of your excellent work in 2012.
FWG Christmas party
Each year, the FWG holds a Christmas party to thank volunteers for all their work throughout the year. As you can see, the Interpretive Centre looks particularly festive for this party, thanks to Al and Erma, who spent Saturday morning decorating and setting up.

Lis's delicious contribution to the feast reflects her passionate interest in growing ferns.

The party is a way to thank all the many volunteers who dedicate so much time to helping the garden work! In this photo: Barbara (management committee member and keeper of the butterfly bed in our Backyard Garden), Gretchen (volunteer coordinator and regular Friday morning volunteer), Charlie (masterful lawn cutter, sign installer, and former management committee member), Henry (management committee member and FWG representative on the Farm's consultative group), David (FWG treasurer and management committee member), and Roman (Friends of the Farm member and former FWG management committee member).

FWG Christmas party
Volunteers were interested in hearing about the accomplishments of the various work groups this year. Key volunteers outlined the work they did - in the Butterfly Meadow, in invasives control by the Tuesday Invasive Species Group, in buckthorn control, and in the Ash Woodlot - and thanked those who contributed to another successful year.

This crow may be wondering why he wasn't invited to the FWG Christmas party which was going on inside the Interpretive Centre.

The entire nursery area has been renovated and expanded. At the same time we've installed a nice new shed, shown here.
