Primitive - that's how to describe the Chinese-made Holga film camera. Fascinating - how to describe the photographic results. The Holga reminds one of the old Kodak Brownie. The one I use has a plastic lens, that gives the image some curious quirks. Settings are very basic, single person, group, distant, far distant; bright sunlight, or dull light and flash. You can hardly avoid not making double exposures on occasion, as there is no automatc film wind, or reminder to do so.
Here in Shanghai on a month's stay, I'm having fun finding out what I can (and can't) do with it!! I would appreciate your comments on these images and the B&W ones in the gallery 'Jen and Kal'
