We had a pretty full day up here in Cassville. Camera wise at least. Shot the Blue jays in the morning, a few dozen of Minnie the cat, and 6-7 of Ian and Eli snuggling together in front of the tv. This afternoon, we went over to Stonefield Village for their Spooky Halloween event that they put on every year. Ed took pictures of anyone that came into the shop they had decorated, which happens to be a replica of an old time photography studio. He has them posted online if you wanna go check them out. http://www.pbase.com/ed_preston/halloween08
I skipped out a little early to make a stop by Ed's new sunset photo spot. I'm extremely jealous as this spot is going to net some great shots no matter when he goes down there. There weren't any clouds in the sky when I went down, and I still feel I got some great shots. I posted a couple in the sun and moon gallery. One is a composite of two exposures that I wanted to try. the jury is out on that, so let me know what you think of it.
As the last of the evening light faded, I walked back to the van to pack up. As I stopped to open the hatch, I noticed how nice the light was behind the power plant that is just to the north west of the rivers edge. So I set the tripod back up and snapped a few long exposures. I painted a few with strobe light, but didn't like how they turned out. It's a technique that I will try to explore again soon. This one will do for now.
