School of Rock

It was inevitable. Sooner or later we were going to get a new game system, and more than likely, Guitar Hero. Well, today, Amber went over to the local Game Stop and picked up a lightly used PS2 and the Guitar Hero 1&2 bundle.

The first time I'd ever seen this game, it was on display at Best Buy at Christmas time a few years back. Ian was holding the guitar correctly for the most part, but he wasn't playing it, he was just rocking out with the guitar over his head, behind his back, playing it with his teeth, like the real rock stars act. I had no idea you actually had notes to play until I walked up to check it out. I just thought you had to ACT like a rockstar or get booed off stage.

So, Amber gave us the green light to play it while she was gone to see a movie tonight, so we set it up. Probably about 6 hours ago. Yea... had to put that thing away. It's midnight now, and waaaaayy past my bedtime. Too addicting. And that's just two games. GH3 is probably in our future, as well as the new Aerosmith and World Tour versions. Then there's Rock Band...

I did let Ian and Margaret play whenever they wanted. Margaret played a few songs and did pretty good. Ian mostly did the tutorials. He isn't ready to follow changing notes just yet. I snagged this shot of him rocking out during the tutorials. This is no pose, this is how he looks when he plays. And if I'd let him, he'd be standing in front of the TV with it over his head, behind his back...

He may not be a rockstar, but he did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

I'm not a big fan of selective coloring but this works so well here. Great shot and great times.
