Part ghost town, part tourist attraction, the tiny hamlet of Mogollon (pop. 11) was devastated by flash floods in 2012. The lower right corner shows where part of the road was washed away.
This house is occupied; I saw someone in the front yard, playing with a dog.
I spoke to one resident at length, who assured me the town is slowly rebuilding, and that next year several business owners will be opening early, prior to the start of the regular tourist season.
Mogollon is a fascinating little town with great photo ops. We plan on going back next year or the year after.
