R.I.P. Fifi (aka The FifiBeast). I have never known a happier soul, of any species. For 12+ years she was a constant source of joy, laughter, and unconditional love. My life was exponentially enriched because she was part of it. While on our annual trip to the White Mountains of eastern AZ, Fifi decided to end her time with us. She was fine on Friday the 10th; Saturday the 11th, she was not. Literally overnight, she lost her appetite, her desire for water, and her ability to stand on her own. She perked up on Monday, got her appetite back for breakfast, and for awhile seemed almost like her usual self. But she started to fade quickly, and by mid-morning we could see she was done. She'd had a very long, very happy life..and now it was time to go. She loved the mountains, and allowed herself 3 full days of high-altitude bliss before getting sick. The nearest vet was an hour away, and she kindly worked us in Monday afternoon. With great tenderness and compassion, this vet and her assistant--who had never seen us before--softly sent Fifi on her way....A genuinely sweet and loving soul, Fifi was the very embodiment of man's best friend.
I am so sorry for your loss. This gallery is a lovely tribute to your beautiful girl. I know you will never forget how her whole butt wiggled when she was happy. Even though it is so difficult to lose our beloved friends I can not image life without them. Like you said, for twelve years she made you smile several times a day. Hopefully, in time, the memories of her will make you smile again. Here's to you Fifi!
This breaks my heart. I know exactly how you are feeling. I have been there. The pain will finally go away but the wonderful memories will always be there. Rest in peace,Fifi.
