We are here in Gas Works Park in Seattle,
a nice public park on the site of the former Seattle Gas Light Company gasification plant,
located on the north shore of Lake Union.
Gas Works Park contains remnants of the sole remaining coal gasification plant in the US.
The plant, which operated from 1906 to 1956, was purchased by the City of Seattle for park purposes in 1962,
and the park was opened to the public in 1975.
Every 4th of July (Independence Day) there is a huge fireworks show over Lake Union
and the prime spot for viewing it is Gas Works Park.
I'm not here at the right time for fireworks, but I have managed to find something even nicer to look at....
Melissa and April's smiles!
It's nearly useless to say that they are both in love with me by now!
