Quai de la Daurade

Toulouse - France

The Daurade Bridge has served local business since the Middle Ages, going on to become the joining point of the Midi river and canal.
This inevitably brought the many trades and activities of the sea to Toulouse,
with fishermen and paving-stone cutters very much in evidence,
plus steam baths and the famous wash-sheds setting up on the river.
The latter of these was swept away by the 1952 floods.
