I think that not all of you know that Venetians don’t go around by gondola and gondola trips are reserved to tourists…
Real Venetians take gondola in only one way…to use it as a public ferry to cross the Grand canal. Actually it’s what Colombina and I are doing now.
There are only three bridges to got from one side of the Grand canal to the other one, so as alternative there is a service of ferry that is done by gondola, but it takes a very short time and it has nothing to do with the tourist gondola excursion, which are very expensive and carefully avoided by local people.
So in Venice do like Venetians…this is my motto!
