End of the saga. Frimpong decided to retire!

Bearshire (UK)

I’d like informing all my friends and kind visitors, who have followed my adventures of travelling bear for over seven years, that something very important has happened in my life:

I decided to retire.

I have worked as professional travelling bear with devotion and engagement, I have visited all continents and I have met personally many people of all nationalities, I have had wonderful experiences and I have learnt a lot of things.
I’m proud to know I have managed to bring a smile to many people too and I have created a link of friendship among all the different photographers who have been my hosts all over the world.

Things change and a wise bear must understand when it’s the moment to retire in order to not spoil a project which has been so successful for such a long time.

The saga of Frimpong the Travelling Bear has come to an end, but it doesn’t mean that you won’t have my news anymore, the future rest on the gods’ knees, as the ancient wise men used to say.

I’m deeply enjoying my retired life right now.

I live with my beloved aunt Violet here in Bearshire and I take all my time to relax.

Definitely is a change to not be on my former hectic rhythms of life anymore and I can tell farewell once for all to the damned cardboard boxes!

All my sincere thanks to all the people who have made Frimpong’s project possible

Dear Frimpong,

I've been thinking of you lately, haven't seen photos from your travels for a while and checked...Oh, the news surprised me at first, but then you are right, a wise bear knows when to say STOP to those cardboard boxes LOL
Wishing you a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing retirement and somehow I feel it's not the end of your adventures yet. Maybe closer to your cottage, maybe getting visits from your friends as Beerie & Suus said. I don't believe such a traveller will sit at home for a long time :)

It was a great pleasure to be your host in Poland and to travel with you to Tanzania, where we had climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro together. Best wishes from all the girls from Kilimanjaro Associaton you've met and travelled with (some of them climbed Mt. Ararat in September!!!).
Enjoy your free time!

Congratulations, Frimpong! I was just thinking today of the fun times we had together in Montana. People still stop me now and then and ask about you. I know you will have a long and happy retirement. You have so many memories of all the places you've been. I hope that some day I can see some of them, myself. I will send you your cowboy hat and scarf as a reminder of your time here in Montana. Take care, little friend. Jan Myers

Dear Frimpong,

Oh dear, I can't believe it: you stopped traveling! But... maybe we can visit you and aunt Violet in your lovely cottage. It looks so cosy! Maybe you can turn it into a bed & breakfast for other traveling bears!
Well, we hope to hear from you in future. Enjoy your well deserved rest and give your lovely aunt our regards.

Big hug from your friends in Holland,

Beerie & Suus (still traveling)

I just learned of your retirement, Frimpong! Although it brought tears to my eyes (and I'm a 70+ year old man)! You were always a source go extraordinary information, pictures, and lovely people! However, if anyone deserves a happy, secure retirement, you do. You have been my friend so many times when I've been blue, and gave me smiles in happy times! I wish both you and Aunt Violet, and your loving staff, much happiness. I'm sure it is INDEED a relief to know no more cardboard boxes. I do so hope you will update us concerning you and Aunt Violet in Bearshire! Much love,

I can't believe this news Frimpong, travel is in your blood! But you are the master of your own destiny and I wish you a happy retirement (though I'm sure you will get the travel bug again!) ;-)
