I was very excited to receive an invitation to this special wedding in Malta.

Fiona from Ireland and David from Malta met in London and decided to celebrate their special day in Malta.

Because my baggage got mislaid on the airline flight from Bali to Malta I arrived there without my debonair morning suit.
My good friend Máire, from Ireland, who is a close friend of the bride's mother Kay, was my guide to the wedding.

From the moment of my arrival in Malta airport she looked after me, and when the wedding was over she invited me to join her and her friend Geraldine to spend a few days of their holiday with them. Paying due attention to the customs and mode of dress in church for a wedding I had to consider the idea to forego the church ceremony and to satisfy myself with attending the very enjoyable wedding reception in the ancient city of Mdina.

There we were feted in a palace.
I met lots of wonderfully charming people who engaged me in interesting conversation. I was fed at a banquet in a Michelin starred restaurant and it would not be an exaggeration to say that I had a truly enjoyable time there.
