Description. Wild Blue Flax, a native of Europe, was introduced into N. America. The plant grows 10-60cm (4-24”) high, with it’s leafed branches terminating with saucer-shaped simple sky-blue flowers. Flax can bloom from spring to fall, and is found throughout our area in open forests and grasslands.
Historical plant use. Flax was used by the Native peoples as a rinse for hair and scalp.
