THEIA was the Titan goddess of sight (thea) who endowed gold, silver and gems with their brilliance and intrinsic value. During Carnevale in Venice, even replicas of her form draw gems to them and enhance their brilliance. This, then, is the story of Birgit who left her hotel close to Piazza San Marco to return to Germany, but discovered on her return, to her horror that the priceless ring, handed down for generations in her family was missing. There was a replica of Theia in the hotel, and Birgit had a friend.....
