Each kiss, each hug, each word of love, then, becomes so important. In this fleeting mortal experience, love conquers all. This 21- image gallery incorporates solitude, meeting, connecting, loving and the knowledge that, somewhere, sometime in this world it will end. We will never know which of the kisses we give to those we love will be the last, nor, perhaps should we, but the value of each such gesture is immeasurable.
The gallery is intended to capture the transitory nature of life. So in a way the kiss is a metaphor "we never know which kiss will be our last" which applies to every intimate relationship...parents and children, longtime friends, any two people who are emotionally close, though not necessarily in the sense of a kiss. I could have used a handshake but it would have been less dramatic, even though a handshake between some friends would be just as meaningful and emotional. Our relationships to those we love are ephemeral and this is what the gallery is about.
