At one point half a century ago, Bologna was known as a city of Towers, sadly, the only two remaining from the ones you see in this picture. The tall one is Torre Asinelli (500 steps or so to reach the top) the smaller one, Torre GarisendaÉ tilts at an angle rivaling that of the more famous tower in Pisa.
