Boston Madness: August 31 to Sept 1, 24 hours of insanity...

This is the 24-hour period when Boston, a city with no end of universities and colleges requires students changing residences for the new year to move their stuff from one residence to another. Every imaginable company dealing with moving one way or another, is completely sold out. U Haul, the most ubiquitous of moving paraphernalia has no rentals available during that time, everything is rented out.

So, my son and I set about moving him (everything in his apartment) from one location to another. We succeeded using only his 2002 Honda Civic and the photos document some of the chaos of Boston and most of the particulars of our move. I flew up from Washington early in the morning of August 31 and flew back late in the day on September 1. So here's our story.....

Arrived at Logan Airport, picked up by Tristan and on our way to move him out!

So this was our procedure, hold onto a parking space, give no quarter until Tristan comes back for the next load...

Everything unloaded, check into our hotel, we cannot move into the new place until 11 tomorrow, so we catch a nap.

That's a brown envelope holding the keys, worthy of a shot together this has been totally exhausting.

Oh my word, this would be such an adventure in that little Honda Civic! It's crazy how much work is required to move everything, isn't it? That looks like an extremely nice place to live for your son! So would you do all of the moving again to see his smile at the new place again?
