Arrived at Logan Airport, picked up by Tristan and on our way to move him out! |
You have to be kidding,,,,,a toll to move into madness city? |
Foreground, the Honda Civic, Tristan, and number 11 which we have to empty in a hurry! |
Oh, and By the Way, Tristan and Marco sublet the apartment for the summer and this is what they got for it? |
So this was our procedure, hold onto a parking space, give no quarter until Tristan comes back for the next load... |
Here is the Honda with a full load, almost, a chair has to go on top of all this... |
So there is the chair, Tristan on top of the Honda and the Honda feeling a bit squished... |
Chair in place, ready to roll… notice the U-Haul in the background, crazy! |
He is on his precarious way with the final roof load, yikes! |
At the 1st corner everything is still on top, I'm holding my breath! |
The U-Haul guys were wondering how we would ever make it, I told them I like a challenge.... |
Blah blah blah! |
Uh, oh Bennys is on the way to make trouble... |
trouble indeed! The street totally blocked by Benny's, Tristan cannot get through so goes to the other end of the block, backs up |
Our final load which which kept getting bigger and bigger, filling every cc of interior volume until.... |
Even the front passenger seat was packed full, and that, folks, is where Tristan had to ride while I drove |
Impossible! |
“You have to be kidding me, Dad" |
One picture is worth 1000 words, off we go to our destination! |
And this is it, bay window and all! |
Everything unloaded, check into our hotel, we cannot move into the new place until 11 tomorrow, so we catch a nap. |
Just FYI we stacked tables drawers chairs in the backyard of the new apartment and took the more valuable items to the basement |
This cool marina was next to our hotel, which you can see in the background. We spent a couple of hours unwinding here. |
We had a $5 bet.The final trip to the new apartment there was china in the trunk I said it would not break Tristan said it would |
At the end of the day, finally, some pastoral tranquility! |
Time to reflect a bit ...... |
The next morning we went to the estate agent's office to pick up the keys of Tristan's new residence |
We took the “T” to get there, seeing people moving and packing the whole way. |
That's a brown envelope holding the keys, worthy of a shot together this has been totally exhausting. |
A packed pickup parading by... |
The T takes us back to Chestnut Hill Avenue where we will move everything into his new apartment. |
Damn. it has a fireplace! Totally polished floors… this can't be right! |
A fabulous bay window, no less, this boy is in hog heaven! |
the kitchen, the bathroom getting checked out... |
Holy cow, this place rocks see the window reflections in that awesome polished floor. Very very cool! |
Methinks he looks a little worse for (moving) wear. no way I'm taking a picture of me. |
Looking out into the hallway while he fiddles with the bookcase. Behind that is his TV and Internet link. We did not know! |
I do not remember seeing him so overcome with delight, I was very happy at his good fortune. |
So now we are fashioning the kitchen and have placed an eating table to complete the enclosure. |
A/C unit installed, bed oriented but needs a frame, kitchen table in position |
Kitchen and toilet detail, FWIW |
Other folks up to the same stuff! |
Doesn't that carpet rock? So here now, the books the crates and the unbroken china |
I'm very happy that he chose one of my Santorini pictures to grace the space over the fireplace. |
This, of course, about 1/50 of his economics library. What do these PhD guys get up to |
Such a cool place to be, I would be surprised if he moved out before he's finished with the degree |
The house number… |
The mailbox… |
I could not resist taking at least one semi-artistic picture good old L X–5 |
It may not look as though it's getting organized, but it really is! |
Getting close to the time that I should leave for the airport… |
But we still needed a little bit of absurdity given the fact that we were both so totally exhausted. |
The darkest corner you see, lower central portion of the image is where restored all of stuff overnight, nothing stolen. |
Ahhhh Such a pretty house, his bay window is lower left! |
Lights on inside, Home Sweet Home!!!! |
