My partner and I were walking close to a trail near Rusty Bucket and we came upon a male and female black-footed albatross performing their mating dance. In March, there are a lot of immature birds on Midway practicing their courtship dances. Most of these performances were brief, but occasionally they are not. This dance was intense and sensuous. The were completely focused on each other and did not notice us. It was a privilege to watch ,especially at end when that sat down and preened each other. I'm sure a life-long bond had been created that day....
