I agree with Kimberly. I actually like the fact that it's so different to the usual softer, more colourful light at sun up/down.

Actually, the harsh light doesn't bother me here. The Grand Canyon looks so different at all times of the day. This is actually quite colorful. The first time we saw it a year ago, we arrived at 2:00 in the afternoon. I'd wanted to see it my entire life and was so disappointed...it was just shades of grey. You've capture color and depth...not easy to do here with direct sun.
