Bell Rock Blossoms

Village of Oak Creek, AZ

Bell Rock is the most recongnized of all the rock formations with names in Sedona. But at this close up the "bell image" is not as recognizable to those not familiar with this formation. I have a wider shot on a roll of film from a 17mm wide angle which should be better when developed. Remember film? I shot this image this afternoon.

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel ,Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5.5.6 USM
Camera two inches off the ground. F22 at ? Mirror lock up. full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Very nice composition with interest in all depth.

Wonderful image, Fred. I see you work on the depth of field. I had the same issue, until I learned somethig from John Shaw: "basic view camera composition #1" You probably know about this. It tells you how to get the depth of field. I tried it, and it works (very well). Drop me a line if you need more info

You are too kind. This shot did take work in field and in photoshop. Depth of field is a problem. I may experiment this pm with two shots on tripod. One focused close up and one in distance, with idea to combine. Dont know.

superb shot....impressive composition and choice of exposure (esp in difficult situation).
