For years here is Sedona I would see one or two of these roses here and there, but not many. Then two years ago they were everywhere by the hundreds. We did not have any special weather, or tons of rain like this year, so I am not sure why all of a sudden they came out in such numbers. These plants have a very long root, as much as a foot to 18 inches and a blossom is about three to four inches in diameter. I like this shot because the tiny plants in the background also show up in comparison alaong with the red Sedona soil. This image was made just after the sun went over the hill, but the sky was still very bright. I sold this image (and several others) to a dentist who did a root canal on me. She was re-decorating her waiting room and office. Almost got my money back ;-)
