25 January 2004

We went to the new movie theater today just to check out the inside. These are the strings in the "self-playing" piano they had in the middle. They are nice and colorful, especially the ribbons that are woven between the strings but I seem to be in a b&w rut and like it better. What do you think? Click here to see the color version.

Hi Franziska, am crusiing your galleries for the first time and this one really caught my eye. I definately like this version better. The red ribbon becomes the focal point in the other and I prefer he repititious symetry of the strings being the focus. -Sally

I think this is the better choice also. Welcome back.

The color shot has a lot going for it, but this (toned?) B&W is very rich.

Rey, Pall, thank you both for your kind comments. It is wonderful to be back ... I've been itching to participate in the PAD club again since the day the camera broke. Also glad you both like the b&w version of the photo better. I agree, it does emphasize the lines and curves. Best Regards, Franziska.

Hey, Franziska. I am SO glad your camera is fixed and you are back with us, as I'm a great fan of your work. I love this image too, and I think this finish is much better as the shape and lines is such an influence in the overall composition. The red was just way too much:-)

Hello Franziska - great to see you back in action.
It is a very fine picture, which I think is een better by the finsish you've chosen. I feel that you have enhanced the pattern and the importance of the strings by fading out the color.
