My favorite of 2012

TIME CAPSULE OPENED . . .

. . . 50 years later.

The Findlay Bicentennial committee opened a 50-year-old time capsule tonight at Riverside Park.
It was one of the coolest events I have photographed in a long time.
There was an odd mixture of memorabilia from the time, letters to be opened and read by families, and many photographs,
but there were no cell phones, no pocket calculators, not a single CD or anything that resembled an iPad in the capsule.
Not even a digital camera.
There were several photos taken with a thing called a Polaroid (and they were in fairly good condition).
The biggest reaction from the crowd came when a letter (and photograph) was opened from the White House (1962).

Another time capsule from 2012 was sealed and is to be opened in 2062. What will they think?

Hi Frank! This is Jenny we met at the fair this year! I am stopping by to look at your photos. I love this one!!! I wish I would have known about this event! Your photos are really enjoyable to look at and very neat too! I wish I could have the time to make it to the Photography club you told me about in Findlay, maybe sometime I would be able to. I entered the Hancock Park Districts Contest that you told me about and won Honorable Mention again on the gorilla picture. I am looking forward to the fair again, see you then!
