. . . 50 years later.
The Findlay Bicentennial committee opened a 50-year-old time capsule tonight at Riverside Park.
It was one of the coolest events I have photographed in a long time.
There was an odd mixture of memorabilia from the time, letters to be opened and read by families, and many photographs,
but there were no cell phones, no pocket calculators, not a single CD or anything that resembled an iPad in the capsule.
Not even a digital camera.
There were several photos taken with a thing called a Polaroid (and they were in fairly good condition).
The biggest reaction from the crowd came when a letter (and photograph) was opened from the White House (1962).
Another time capsule from 2012 was sealed and is to be opened in 2062. What will they think?
