Established in 1784 as the first Presbyterian church west of the Allegheny Mountains.
The first church building was made of logs and stood below the current church site.
The current church building was built in 1812 of stacked stones and remodeled in 1868 to the current poignantly beautiful Gothic appearance.
The church remains an active congregation.
