Coffee Amici

COFFEE AMICI - MY FAVORITE PLACE IN ALL THAT IS FINDLAY - AND IT'S FREE www.coffeeamici.com

The absolute heart of Findlay, OHIO

Coffee Amici: "We believe talent in the fine arts is a gift to be shared. Some are given steady hands to paint and sculpt. Another may have a clear voice for song. Instrumentalists have the passion to practice endlessly. Coffee Amici has been designed to showcase these gifts. Make plans to stop by Fridays and Saturdays from 7-10 P.M. Relax and enjoy the fine arts with your friends and family at our gathering place."

Tonight At Coffee Amici

They come through to door from everyday places
With everyday clothes and everyday faces
And they're proud of the names on their instrument cases ...
Like Taylor and Martin and Samick :o)
But everyday fades like the Main Street noise
When that door swings behind 'em again
Cause they'll give up their everyday lives for awhile
And as they look around, they just smile ...
Yeah, they know when they're standin' beneath them floodlights
... it's alright
At Coffee Amici tonight.

Well eight o'clock comes and the harmony's sweet
Those songs come alive, got us tappin' our feet
And this old man beside me, he smiles ear to ear -
Points his finger, leans back in his seat
Then he says, “I remember fifty years gone by
When this played on AM radio ..."
And he holds his wife’s hand and he closes his eyes
And he’s drivin’ his old ’55
And he sees her again, bathed in them old headlights … and it’s alright

Chorus:
Well the stars they come and the stars they go
They rise and they fall without end …
But inside these four walls, me and Andy both know’s
For us stars that ain’t never been.
But we know when we're standin' beneath them floodlights
... it's alright
At Coffee Amici tonight.

It’s the usual crowd and they don’t seem to care
If there’s guitars out of tune and lines that don’t rhyme
'Cause they’ve come to give witness to writers and poets,
Psycho killers, serenaders, and surfers.
And the stories they’re hearing, and the lives being sung
Draw the dreams that they’re dreaming still …
And as for me, I keep dreamin’, and I guess that’s okay
‘Cause I’m here, and it’s my time to play …
And I know when I’m standing beneath these floodlights
… it’s alright
Well the stars they come and the stars they go
They rise and they fall without end …
But inside these four walls, me and Andy both know’s
For us stars that ain’t never been.
But we know when we're standin' beneath them floodlights
... it's alright
At Coffee Amici tonight.
