MY APOLOGIES FOR THE VERY POOR PHOTOGRAPHS! I hate having to say that, and I really shouldn't even post these photos, but some may be interested. Honestly, it wasn't until I viewed these photos and blew them up 1000%, that I was able to even see what Joe looked like! This was a very poor venue, both from a photographic standpoint (very low lighting) as well as just an audience member. There were very few good vantage points unless you were either a "high roller" (casino parlance) or, paid a fortune for front row seats. Everyone else was forced to stand way back and the view was blocked by pool cabanas, ornamental structures, etc. The last photo here was shot with a 200 mm lens and you can see that Joe looks like a pimple up on the stage.
Regardless though, Joe's voice is in fine form and he sounded terrific, even if we weren't able to see him. As might be expected, venue security panicked when they saw my camera and almost threw me out as I was not an "official event photographer" for this event. Last time I go there for a concert!
Thanks for putting them up...a couple aren't too bad considering the conditions. I used to shoot Neil Young & the lights were very low, little bit more for the 1st song but the next 2 it was candlelight and very little spot!

In 1970 I saw Joe with Leon Russell and the rest of the mad dogs and englishmen: Great concert and live CD. It's getting on to 40 years and my thought at the time was this guy would be lucky to make it through the tour alive.
