Sergilla is one of the best preserved Dead Cities in northwestern Syria. "Dead Cities" are a cluster of villages that lie between Hama and Aleppo and that were once part of greater region during the Byzantine Empire (330 AD-1453 AD). With no signs of invasion or destruction, no one knows why these cities were deserted.
