Eight of these walls are being engraved to cover the "History of Humanity." Already engraved are lists such as the names of 4,617 US Marines killed in the Korean War. Each wall is a hundred feet long and accommodates 6,000 names. One list honors the name of every student in the Princeton Class of 1949. Mayor Istel, a Princeton graduate, served in the Korean War.
