Ketchikan's harbor is an interesting mixture, at least in the summer months, of a working fishing boat harbor and a dock for mega cruise ships. When several of these big ships are in town, the number of people in town can easily double. There is also a nearby landing for seaplanes, a common form of transportation in the far northwest.
