According to what I read, the common dandelion is not native to our country, which I suppose is not surprising. They seem to grow anywhere under most conditions. Dandelions can spread rapidly. The seeds can germinate in less than an inch of earth and each seed head can produce as many as 200 seeds. Pollinators, such as bees and beetles, are attracted to them and birds' diets include these insects. How do I know this? I read it on the Internet. 😉
