There is this empty bird feeder in a walnut tree that birds have neglected. It has ben vacant for some time. Instead of birds crowding there to feed, they are at other feeders or on the ground. The birds I am seeing here locally right now are ground feeders who you will find beneath bushes or at lower feeders in our yard.
As I look at the feeder, from a human perspective, it looks too cramped for the bigger birds around, like Steller Jays, and in a tree where I don't see the small birds that feed on the ground, etc. There may birds that this feeder would appeal to. I guess I need to do some research, or maybe the design isn't attractive to a bird. If there are any bird brains out there, maybe they can tell us. 🤡
