I love these tiny creatures! They are so interesting and beautiful. According to information I could gather online, the wing beats per second while hovering are somewhere up to 80! Now, look at your watch and count off 1 second. During that time the hummingbird's wings are beating back and forth approximately 60-80 times! WOW! Also amazing, one source says that they hover about 90 % of their flying time, while feeding,
etc.
I think they are the only birds that can fly backwards too! There are a lot more interesting facts about the hummingbird to be found on the Internet. Another wonder of creation!
