Well, We Can Say We Got Some Snow!

Yes, I know! Compared with what the rest of the country has suffered through, this is hardly worth mentioning. But now we can say we got some snow this year.

Truth be told, it isn't that surprising to get snow in February, or even March or April.
The biggest snowfalls we have ever had came during January/February of 1969 when we ended up with 4 feet of snow on the ground. That was far from normal. Some years we have no snow at all. So when even a little bit ends up on the ground around here we do notice. And it is a real surprise to see snow on the Oregon Coast. But this week the beaches over there were covered with snow. Now that would have been a sight to see!

Hope it does not last, we missed it where we live so far.

I remember the winter of ‘69 I was going to LCC and working in a plywood mill. That was one cold winter for Eugene. Got up to about 7 inches of snow this morning in SLC then this evening it snowed another 2 inches.....so far!

Glad to share the wealth with you Vern. We had a record three feet of snow this past January. Add to that extreme cold temps which made going out to shoot difficult.

As much as here recently.

a few days ago there was a light snowfall up here too, but oddly it seemed more like tiny pellets than true snowflakes..

Enjoy it while it lasts, probably not long where you are.:)

Looks like what we got this evening. But this time ours was with freezing rain, too. Last weekend melted the last of our really big snow. But here we now go again with Winter Weather again. It is supposed to be down to below zero again by the weekend with 4 days of freezing rain before then.

I can't image snow on a beach. Yes, that would have been a sight to see and an interesting photo.

I like snow, wish we had more, but 4 feet is to much for sure! V

Very cool (well - cold!), Vern. Fun to have a touch now and then. :) We had some in our small mountains near here last night. Not at our house, but viewable from a distance.

Neat find and capture. Got a bit snow in our lower elevations around here.
